Food Safety Bill Passed by the Senate

After the E.Coli and salmonella outbreak, the Senate has decided to pass a food safety bill that will enable the Government to increase inspections in facilities for food processing, force food recalls and place higher standards in imported foods.

The food safety bill was passed with final vote of 73-25. Supporters deemed this bill vital to prevent future health problems related to infected food. After the recent outbreaks it was evident that the FDA was not doing a great job investigating
