Woolly mammoth may have interbred with elephants
: Woolly mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius) traveled the globe for more than a million years, from Europe to Asia to North America. Almost all of these giants vanished from Siberia, about 10.000 years, although the dwarf mammoths survived on Wrangel Island in the Arctic Ocean up to 3700 years ago.
