Canadian transport company giant Bombardier axed about 1,400 jobs at only Britain’s train manufactory on Tuesday, faulting the act on the British government’s decision to grant a contract to German challenger Siemens.
Bombardier supposed it would cut 446 permanent staff and 983 temps at the plant in Derby, central England, sparkling calls from unions and the main opposition Labour party for the alliance government to inverse the decision.
