Midwest farmland values up 25%

The latest survey of ag bankers in the Federal Reserve’s Seventh District shows Midwest farmland values are up 25 percent in the past year.
The district covers Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin and Michigan.
Iowa ag land values led the district with a year-over-year increase of 31 percent for the third quarter of 2011. Indiana saw a 29 percent increase, followed by Illinois at 23 and Wisconsin at 17 percent. Michigan’s land values increased 16 percent compared to this time last
