USDA reports 2011 Missouri cotton production was up on the year with increased acreage cancelling out lower yields.
Production is pegged at 800,000 480-pound bales, up 115,000 from 2010.
Average yield came out at 1,052 pounds per acre, compared to 1,131 a month ago and 1,068 a year ago, with harvested area at 365,000 acres, compared to 308,000 last year.
Year to date ginnings at the start of December were pegged at 672,750 bales, compared to 705,800 on December 1, 2010.
