There’s nothing quite like popcorn

People have enjoyed the light fluffy taste of this low-fat, whole grain for centuries. So, what makes popcorn pop? When introduced to heat, popcorn can expand and turn itself inside out. It’s a unique characteristic that the three other types of common corn, sweet corn, field corn and Indian corn do not share. The Popcorn Board’s, Wendy Rappel says the outside of the kernel, the hull, is the key to the mystery of popping.
