China signs big soybean agreement

China’s Ministry of Commerce and Dow Jones Newswires say Beijing has agreed to import 8.62 million tons of U.S. soybeans.
The deal was made during Chinese Vice President’s Xi Jinping’s visit to Iowa and is valued at $ 4.31 billion.
Dow Jones adds the Chinese trade delegation is expected to sign more soybean purchase agreements when it reaches Los Angeles, and according to Allendale, that could bring the total commitment to more than 12 million tons.
