Cattle country is very quiet on Tuesday. No bids have been reported and asking prices are around 126.00 to 127.00 in the South, and 203.00 plus in the North. DTN reports, over the past six weeks, fed slaughter has totaled nearly 200,000 head fewer cattle than the same period in 2011. This fact coupled with growing carcass weights suggests feedlots may have lost both their current status and bargaining power over the last month or so.
