Hugh Hefner Resolves to Stay Single

Russian company to curb phosphate production

One day after the Mosaic Company announced it was going to curtail phosphate fertilizer production for the first quarter, Russia’s largest phosphate company announced they are doing the same. Phosagro says it will reduce production of diammonium phosphate (DAP) and monoammonium phosphate (MAP) by 18 percent in the first quarter.
Price seems to be the main reason for the cutbacks, Bloomberg reports since peaking in July, DAP prices have fallen around 15 percent in the U.S.

Dream Big was a year-long project in which artist Peter Fecteau created a mosaic of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. using 4,242 Rubik’s Cubes. Grandparents of Justin Bieber Injured in Car Accident, Will Be Okay

Justin Bieber and his family can breathe a sigh of relief today, after the singer's grandparents were involved in a somewhat serious car accident.
According to the Ontario Provincial Police in Perth County, Bieber's maternal grandfather, Bruce, and maternal grandmother, Diane, were driving outside of Toronto when they ran into an icy section of the road and slammed into a ditch. Their car actually rolled over and flipped 360 degrees, landing back on its wheels.

Veteran agricultural policy watcher Jim Wiesemeyer looks for many of the features of the draft 2012 farm bill to ultimately find their way into law.

Agriculture’s fight to keep the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) from changing the ballot initiative process in Missouri continues. Aliahna Lemmon Found, Mike Plumadore Charged With Murder

Missing Fort Wayne, Ind., girl Aliahna Lemmon has been found, but tragically, not alive. Babysitter Mike Plumadore has been charged with her murder.
The 39-year-old who was babysitting her when she went missing appeared in an Indiana courtroom Tuesday, charged with murdering the 9-year-old.
“It was a horrific crime," Allen County, Ind., Sheriff Ken Fries told reporters after the body's discovery. "Probably worse than you can imagine."

Expansion not evident in hogs & pigs report

The big question heading into Friday’s hogs and pigs report was whether pork producers—in response to two years of good profits—would begin expanding production in 2012.
The answer appears to be “no”.

Texas cow herd estimated down 12 percent

Texas has been experiencing the worst drought in its history—and it has led to the largest ever one-year decline in the state’s cow herd.

Amber Portwood: JAILED For Probation Violations!

Looks like Amber Portwood is back jail.
It's not entirely clear why at this time, but a judge issued a warrant for her arrest today, and it was executed. The Teen Mom star was apprehended and booked.

Crop insurance companies have paid out more than $ 7.1 billion so far in 2011. According to a release from National Crop Insurance Services (NCIS) that is second only to 2008 when the total value of indemnities paid to farmers totaled $ 8.6 billion. Flood victims face higher crop insurance premiums

As if the water damage wasn’t enough, farmers who were flooded out by the Missouri River this summer may now be facing substantial increases in crop insurance premiums. The problem is many of the levees damaged or destroyed by the flood waters have not been repaired or not rebuilt to previous levels. Sam Hurd, Chicago Bears Wide Receiver, Busted By Homeland Security Agents in MASSIVE Drug Sting

Stop us if ya Hurd this one ...
Apparently, Chicago Bears receiver Sam Hurd was arrested on Wednesday by undercover Homeland Security agents after attempting to set up regular purchases of marijuana and cocaine to expand a drug distribution system he already had going.
The Chicago Sun-Times broke the story earlier.

The Bears said this morning: "We are aware of Sam's arrest and are continuing to gather details. We are disappointed whenever these circumstances arise."
